About The Position

The Vice President Finance (VP Fin) is a key member of the executive leadership team, responsible for overseeing all financial aspects of the company as well as Human Resources and Payroll functions. The VP Fin will provide strategic financial guidance, ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, and drive initiatives that support sustainable growth, while also managing HR policies, employee relations, and payroll administration.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting or business administration required.
  • Certified Public Accountant certification required.
  • 10+ years of progressive leadership experience in finance, with exposure to HR and payroll management
  • Strategic thinker with strong analytical and organizational skills
  • Ability to manage both financial and HR operations in a fast-paced environment.
  • Collaborative leader who can influence across departments
  • Strong knowledge of corporate finance, accounting principles, HR practices, and payroll systems
  • Excellent leadership, communication and interpersonal skills
  • High integrity and commitment to ethical business practices

Responsibilities

  • Oversee accounting, budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting.
  • Manage cash flow, capital structure, and funding strategies.
  • Oversee the operations of the Accounting Department which include accounts payable, accounts receivable, bank reconciliations, billing and collections.
  • Manage relationship with customers finance and carrier management teams.
  • Oversee the operations of the Human Resources and Payroll Departments
  • Establish and monitor internal controls to safeguard company assets.
  • Ensure compliance with GAAP, tax laws, and regulatory requirements.
  • Coordination and responsibility for providing financial regulatory requirements with agencies such as the DOT.
  • Coordinate audits and liaise with external auditors.
  • Oversee the company’s insurance portfolio, including property, liability, health, and other coverage.
  • Ensure timely renewal and compliance with all insurance requirements.
  • Serve as the primary liaison with banks and financial institutions.
  • Administer the company’s 401(k) plan and other retirement benefits.
  • Ensure compliance with ERISA and other regulatory requirements.
  • Collaborate with plan providers to manage investment options and employee communications.
  • Oversee payroll integration with retirement contributions and ensure accuracy of reporting.
  • Provide guidance to employees on retirement plan participation and benefits.
  • Coordinate with outside council and executive team for the review of contracts and other legal documents.
