About The Position

We seek visionary leaders who thrive in dynamic, entrepreneurial settings, and excel in autonomous roles. We’re hiring a VP of Finance to build and lead our finance and accounting function as we scale. You will own financial strategy, planning, and operations and play a key role in long-term capital management and M&A. You’ll partner closely across the business, including business development, insurance, operations, people, and engineering leadership. This is a player-coach role for a hands-on executive who balances strategic leadership with operational execution in a fast-paced, high-impact environment.

Requirements

  • Proven experience in senior finance leadership roles with scope and responsibility comparable to a VP or Head of Finance
  • Deep experience in FP&A and strategic finance, ideally in high-growth environments with comparable scale and complexity (e.g., $50M–$500M in revenue)
  • Demonstrated experience building finance teams and functions from the ground up, including hiring, systems implementation, and process design

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in balance sheet businesses, insurtech, fintech, or other highly regulated industries is helpful but not required

Responsibilities

  • Partner with the Co-CEOs on company strategy, capital allocation, and long-term financial planning
  • Define and execute financial goals across P&L, balance sheet, and cash flow performance; lead the long-range plan, annual budgeting, and monthly forecasting processes.
  • Establish and maintain strong relationships with senior executives to ensure alignment of financial and operational strategies
  • Analyze financial results, provide insights, and recommend actions to improve performance; shape and inform strategic decisions related to unit economics, market expansion, and capital allocation.
  • Build and initially operate key financial infrastructure, while designing and implementing scalable systems, controls, and processes to support significant revenue growth over the next 2 years.
  • Lead Board-level financial reporting and investor communications, owning MGT’s financial narrative
  • Oversee capital structure and funding strategies
  • Lead, develop, and mentor the Finance and Accounting team as the organization scales.
  • Manage relationships with external partners, including auditors, advisors, and financial institutions
