About The Position

The Vice President of Human Resources is responsible for determining and providing leadership in developing and executing human resources strategy in support of the overall business plans and the strategic direction of the organization in support of its mission. These responsibilities will be in accordance with the policies and practices of the company as well as the ethical and social consciences of business and society, and the laws, regulations and administrative rulings of governmental organizations and other regulatory and advisory authorities and organizations.

Requirements

  • Ten years’ experience in Human Resources in large sized manufacturing, distribution, or retail is required.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources or related field
  • Knowledge of federal and state regulations.
  • HRCI Certification required.
  • Demonstrates expertise in a variety of the field's concepts, practices, and procedures.
  • An energetic, forward-thinking, and creative individual with high ethical standards and an appropriate professional image.
  • Strategic planner with sound technical skills, analytical ability, good judgement and strong operational focus.
  • A well-organized and self-directed individual who is “politically savvy” and a team player.
  • An intelligent and articulate individual who can relate to people at all levels of an organization and possesses excellent communication skills.
  • A good educator who is trustworthy and willing to share information and serve as a mentor.
  • An excellent facilitator who is experienced in resolving conflicts between different parties.
  • A decisive individual who possesses a strategic focus along with an operation, an implementation and detail-oriented perspective.
  • Diverse experience in managing a range of administrative areas of responsibility.

Responsibilities

  • Work with other business leaders to develop enterprise business strategies
  • Oversee external recruiting and succession management.
  • Find the right mix of development programs to satisfy the company's unique requirements.
  • Oversee human resource functions including staffing, employee orientation, education, and training, management development, employee and labor relations, affirmative action, compliance, policies and procedures, workers compensation administration, wage and salary administration, benefits administration, organization development, and employee assistance.
  • Oversee staff personnel who assist in identifying, evaluating, and resolving human relations and work performance problems within establishment to facilitate communication and improve employee human relations skills and work performance.
  • Conducts wage survey within labor market to determine competitive wage rate.
  • Investigates allegations of harassment claims and other HR related issues
  • Participate in the development of the company’s plans and programs as a strategic partner, particularly from the perspective of the impact on employees.
  • Translate the strategic business plans into HR strategic and operational plans.
  • Maintain knowledge of industry trends and employment legislation and ensure LCI compliance with Federal and State legislation pertaining to all personnel matters.
  • Maintain knowledge of current HR policies, programs, laws and issues.
  • Coordinate and direct legal counsel on HR & compliance related matters.
  • Maintain compliance and reporting functions in diversity & affirmative action processes.
  • Establish credibility throughout the organization with management and employees in order to be an effective listener and problems solver of people issues.
  • Develop appropriate policies for effective management of the employees of LCI
  • Responsible for the continuous improvement of the programs, policies, practices, and processes associated with meeting the strategic and operational human resources issues of the organization.
  • Enhance or develop, implement and enforce human resources policies and procedures for the organization by way of systems that will improve the overall operation and effectiveness of the company.
  • Continually assess the competitiveness of all programs and practices against the relevant comparable companies, industries and markets.
  • Oversee the human resource department and performance by proving direction, technical advice and knowledge.
  • Manage the budget and other financial measures of the human resources department.
  • Responsible for the continuous improvement of the efficiency and effectiveness of the HR team.
  • Develop progressive and proactive compensation and benefit programs to provide motivation, incentives, and rewards for effective performance.
  • Develop human resources planning models to identify competency, knowledge, and talent gaps and to develop specific programs for filling the gaps.
  • Responsible for the continuing education, professional and person growth programs of employees.
  • Serve as the HIPAA Compliance Officer and EEO/Affirmative Action Officer.
  • Serve as the Ethics Officer for all LCI employees.
  • Flexibility to perform other duties as assigned.
