About The Position

The Vice President of HR Operations is a senior people leader responsible for designing, scaling, and operating the core people infrastructure that supports VASA Fitness's rapidly growing, multi-state workforce. This role oversees payroll, HRIS administration, benefits, compensation and pay architecture, total rewards strategy, HR data and analytics, compliance and policy governance, and HR service delivery. The VP of HR Operations balances strategic design with operational excellence--ensuring accuracy, compliance, and scalability while delivering a simple, transparent, and high-quality employee experience. This leader is a trusted partner to Finance, Legal, IT, Operations, and executive leadership, enabling VASA's growth through disciplined people operations, competitive rewards, and strong risk management.

Requirements

  • 12+ years of progressive HR experience with deep expertise in HR Operations and Total Rewards
  • Proven leadership of payroll, HRIS, benefits, compensation, and HR service delivery in a multi-state organization
  • Strong knowledge of employment law, payroll compliance, and HR governance
  • Experience scaling HR operations in a high-growth, operationally complex environment
  • Data-driven mindset with strong analytical, problem-solving, and execution skills

Responsibilities

  • HR Operations, Infrastructure & Service Delivery
  • Own and continuously improve all HR operational functions to support a high-volume, multi-state workforce
  • Design scalable, efficient HR operating models that serve both corporate and club-level teams
  • Establish clear service standards, operating rhythms, governance, and controls across HR processes
  • Lead the HR Helpdesk and shared services model, ensuring timely, accurate, and consistent support for employee and leader inquiries
  • Define and monitor service delivery metrics, including response times, resolution times, case volumes, and employee satisfaction (CSAT)
  • Use service data and trends to drive simplification, automation, self-service solutions, and continuous improvement
  • Payroll Operations
  • Oversee end-to-end payroll operations, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and compliance across all jurisdictions
  • Partner with HRIS Administrator to drive system enhancements, integrations, data integrity, and adoption
  • Ensure strong system governance, documentation, security, and audit readiness
  • Total Rewards Strategy, Compensation & Benefits
  • Own and evolve VASA's total rewards strategy, aligning compensation and benefits with business strategy, growth objectives, and talent needs
  • Lead market benchmarking and competitive analysis to inform pay structures and rewards decisions
  • Design, implement, and govern enterprise-wide compensation frameworks, job architecture, and pay structures
  • Optimize incentive and long-term reward programs to drive performance, retention, and alignment with company goals
  • Oversee benefits strategy and administration, including annual renewals, vendor management, and cost optimization
  • Ensure total rewards programs are equitable, compliant, market-aligned, and clearly communicated
  • HR Operations Communication & Employee Experience
  • Lead clear, compelling communication of compensation, benefits, and total rewards programs
  • Simplify complex programs into employee-friendly messaging and tools
  • Equip leaders and People Partners with guidance and resources to support consistent rewards decisions
  • Continuously improving the employee experience through transparency, education, and operational excellence
  • HRIS Administrator, Data, Analytics & Insights
  • Establish strong HR data governance, reporting, and analytics capabilities
  • Serve as executive owner of HRIS and related platforms, including timekeeping, payroll, benefits, and all other relevant systems
  • Partner with IT and vendors to drive system enhancements, integrations, data integrity, and adoption
  • Translate people data into actionable insights related to workforce trends, labor costs, turnover, pay equity, and benefits utilization
  • Develop dashboards and metrics to support executive decision-making and workforce planning
  • HR Compliance, Policy Governance, Risk & Audit Preparedness
  • Lead development, governance, and maintenance of HR policies to ensure consistency and legal compliance
  • Conduct HR risk assessments across payroll, compensation, benefits, data, and operational processes
  • Partner with Legal, Finance, and Internal Audit to support HR-related audits, controls testing, and reviews
  • Ensure HR systems, processes, and documentation are audit-ready and consistently applied
  • Leadership & Cross-Functional Partnership
  • Build, lead, and develop a high-performing HR Operations and Total Rewards team
  • Partner closely with Finance on workforce planning, labor economics, budgeting, and cost modeling
  • Collaborate with Legal, IT, Operations, and People Business Partners to align HR operations with business needs
  • Serve as a trusted advisor to senior leadership on HR operations, total rewards, and risk management
