About The Position

The Vice President & General Manager (VP/GM) X-ray is the senior leader with full P&L responsibility for the global $750M X-ray business unit. This role is accountable for end-to-end product strategy, execution, product development, commercialization, growth, profitability, and compliance, while building a high-performance organization. This role sets the long-term vision for the portfolio, translating unmet customer needs into differentiated products that scale globally and deliver sustainable growth while leveraging the latest advances in technology. Reporting to the global CEO for Women’s Health and X-ray, the VP/GM leads a globally distributed organization spanning product management, R&D, regulatory, quality, manufacturing, service, and commercial teams, ensuring seamless execution from concept to launch to lifecycle optimization, in a matrixed organization with teams based primarily in: Wisconsin USA, Monterrey, Mexico; Beijing, China; and Bangalore, India.

Requirements

  • Demonstrated experience leading global product development organizations with direct accountability for roadmap delivery and portfolio health.
  • Deep understanding of P&L levers, ability to interrogate P&L broadly and comprehensive and devise strategies to adjust levers as needed.
  • Demonstrated ability to lay out robust and actionable strategies, backed up by operational execution and strong financial and operational results.
  • Strong product management fundamentals, highly customer driven, ability to launch products globally with demonstrated commercial success, build value propositions, and partner to drive commercial growth.

  • Bachelor’s degree required; MBA or advanced degree preferred.
  • 10+ years of progressive leadership experience in medical devices, diagnostics, or regulated healthcare industries.
  • Track record of leading large, cross-functional organizations.
  • Able to travel globally, at times greater than 50% as required.

Responsibilities

  • Build, own, and execute the global product vision and roadmap, aligned with overarching business strategy and regional market and customer needs, while leveraging the possibilities of the latest advanced technologies.
  • Own and grow P&L through new product introductions, franchise leadership, and margin expansion.
  • Lead portfolio strategy, pipeline prioritization, and investment decisions across platforms, modalities, and geographies.
  • Balance breakthrough innovation with sustaining engineering and lifecycle extensions.
  • Experiment and pilot new business models for product portfolio.
  • Ensure product strategies are grounded in clinical evidence, customer insights, and customer economics and build strong value propositions to support new products.
  • Establish and track KPIs to ensure disciplined operating cadence and predictable performance.
  • Problem solve KPIs in a systematic and sustainable manner with clear accountability and ownership at each level of the organization
  • Build and lead a world-class global product management organization.with clear role definition, operating mechanisms, and decision rights
  • Establish best-in-class product management disciplines including: Voice of Customer (VOC) and unmet needs identification Business case development and value propositions Requirements definition and design input Launch excellence and lifecycle optimization
  • Drive tight alignment between product management, R&D, service, manufacturing, and commercial teams.
  • Make trade-off decisions across regions, functions, and investments to optimize long-term value creation
  • Partner closely with R&D to guide end-to-end product development, from early concept through global launch.
  • Ensure development programs meet performance, cost, quality, regulatory, and time-to-market objectives.
  • Champion modular, scalable platforms and software-enabled innovation where applicable.
  • Work in close partnership with regional leaders to ensure products meet local market, regulatory, and customer requirements.
  • Guide global launch strategies while enabling regional customization and speed.
  • Engage with global customers, KOLs, regulators, and partners to shape market direction and influence standards of care.
  • Develop future product and business leaders through coaching, succession planning, and talent development.
  • Foster a culture of customer focus, innovation, accountability, and inclusion.
