About The Position

The Vice President of FP&A will serve as a strategic financial leader and trusted business partner to the CFO and executive leadership team. This role is critical to our value creation plan, providing sophisticated financial analysis, strategic insights, and operational intelligence that drives decision-making across our multi-site platform. The VP of FP&A will build and lead a best-in-class FP&A function capable of supporting rapid growth, M&A activity, and operational excellence initiatives.

Requirements

  • 10+ years of progressive FP&A experience, with at least 5 years in healthcare services or multi-site operations
  • Minimum 3 years in PE-backed companies or investment banking/transaction advisory roles supporting healthcare deals
  • Proven track record building FP&A functions from ground up or leading significant organizational transformation
  • Direct experience supporting M&A transactions including financial due diligence, integration, and deal modeling
  • Experience managing teams of 5+ FP&A professionals across multiple levels
  • Expert-level financial modeling capabilities including three-statement models, LBO analysis, and sensitivity analysis
  • Advanced Excel/Google Sheets proficiency (pivot tables, macros, complex formulas, data manipulation)
  • Experience with EPM platforms (High Radius, Vena, Adaptive Insights, Anaplan, Planful) and BI tools (Tableau, Power BI)
  • Deep understanding of healthcare economics including ASC/hospital reimbursement, payer contracting, and revenue cycle metrics
  • Proficiency with healthcare-specific KPIs: case costs, OR minutes, surgeon block utilization, collection rates, aging analysis
  • Exceptional communication skills with ability to present complex financial concepts to diverse audiences including PE sponsors, board members, and operational leaders
  • High tolerance for ambiguity and rapid change in dynamic growth environment
  • Entrepreneurial mindset with willingness to be hands-on and build processes from scratch
  • Strong business acumen and ability to connect financial analysis to operational drivers and strategic outcomes
  • Proven ability to thrive in high-intensity, results-oriented PE-backed environment
  • Intellectual curiosity and commitment to continuous learning in evolving healthcare landscape
  • Bachelor’s degree in finance, Accounting, Economics, or related field required

Responsibilities

  • Lead the annual budgeting and long-range strategic planning processes across all facilities and service lines
  • Develop and maintain comprehensive three-statement financial models and driver-based planning frameworks
  • Partner with Legent and Private Equity teams to deliver investor-grade reporting including monthly board and monthly MD&A packages, variance analysis, and KPI dashboards
  • Build and maintain pro-forma financial models for platform growth scenarios and add-on acquisitions
  • Provide strategic recommendations on pricing, payer mix optimization, and margin enhancement opportunities
  • Lead financial due diligence and modeling for add-on acquisition targets
  • Develop integration financial plans including synergy identification, working capital requirements, and EBITDA bridge analysis
  • Support transaction execution alongside investment banking advisors and PE sponsors
  • Track and report on acquisition performance with granular transaction-level analytics
  • Build business cases for organic growth initiatives including new service lines and facility expansions
  • Establish facility-level P&L accountability with site leaders and drive operational improvements through data-driven insights
  • Design and implement KPI scorecards tracking OR utilization, case volume by specialty, surgeon productivity, net collection rates, and days in A/R
  • Partner with Revenue Cycle Management leadership on DSO improvement, denial management, and collection effectiveness
  • Conduct detailed variance analysis on facility performance and identify actionable improvement opportunities
  • Support capital allocation decisions including equipment purchases, facility improvements, and technology investments
  • Build, mentor, and develop a high-performing FP&A team including Directors, Managers, and Analysts
  • Establish FP&A processes, policies, and best practices aligned with PE portfolio company standards
  • Drive adoption of planning and analytics technology and AI platforms (EPM tools, BI dashboards)
  • Foster a culture of analytical excellence, accountability, and continuous improvement
  • Partner with CFO on broader finance organization development including accounting and revenue cycle teams
  • Lead implementation of integrated planning and reporting systems capable of multi-entity consolidation
  • Accelerate month-end close processes from current 21-day timeline to 7-10 day target
  • Ensure data integrity across disparate facility systems and establish single source of truth for financial reporting
  • Design executive dashboards providing real-time visibility into operational and financial performance
  • Maintain documentation of processes, assumptions, and methodologies for audit and compliance purposes
