About The Position

CG Oncology is seeking a seasoned Vice President of Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) to partner closely with the CFO in driving financial insight, forecasting rigor, and strategic decision support as the company advances through commercialization and continued growth. Reporting directly to the CFO, this role will lead enterprise-wide planning, budgeting, and forecasting while delivering actionable analysis that informs operational, clinical, and commercial decisions. The VP of FP&A will oversee the FP&A function and team, develop robust financial models, and collaborate cross-functionally to support product launch planning, revenue forecasting, and investment prioritization. This executive will serve as a trusted advisor to Commercial, Clinical, CMC, and operational leaders, playing a critical role in enhancing financial discipline, performance visibility, and scalable planning processes within a public company environment. Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, business administration, or related field required.
  • Twelve (12) years of progressive experience in financial planning and analysis roles for both private and public companies.
  • Extensive experience in budgeting, forecasting, financial modeling, and analysis, with proficiency in financial software systems and Microsoft Excel.
  • Demonstrated leadership and management experience, with the ability to lead and develop cross-functional teams, delegate responsibilities, and drive performance excellence.
  • Six (6) years of demonstrated experience working in the life science and/or biotech industry.
  • Strong knowledge of GAAP (including accruals, gross-to-net, capitalization vs expense).
  • Experience with ERP systems and financial management/reporting software.

Responsibilities

  • Financial Planning & Analysis:
  • Establish and maintain strong relationships with leaders across the organization to identify their financial needs and provide strategic guidance and support.
  • Develop and continuously evaluate short and long-term strategic financial objectives to drive sustainable growth and profitability.
  • Provide recommendations to strategically enhance financial performance and identify new business opportunities through financial analysis and scenario planning.
  • Oversee the budgeting and analysis process for the company's full profit and loss (P&L) statement, collaborating with business leaders to develop accurate and actionable financial plans.
  • Initiate new expense and revenue forecast cycle for company
  • Collaborates closely with the Clinical, CMC, and Business Analytics and Operations teams on forecasting plans and models for cretostimogene.
  • Financial Reporting and Compliance:
  • Ensures timely and accurate analysis of budgets, financial trends, and forecasts, providing actionable insights to senior management and the board of directors.
  • Provides oversight and management of financial terms in various contracts and agreements, collaborating with legal and business teams to ensure compliance and mitigate financial risks.
  • Collaborates with the Controller to establish and maintain effective internal controls, including those required for compliance with Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) regulations, to safeguard company assets and enhance financial reporting integrity.
  • Will need to work with Business and Commercial Operations on data sourcing plus with our MDM.
  • Commercial FP&A Support:
  • Commercial & Revenue Modeling – Partner with commercial team to create and maintain financial models supporting product launch, revenue forecasting, pricing, demand scenarios, and gross-to-net assumptions.
  • Partner with Commercial Leadership – Provide financial decision support for sales force deployment, incentive compensation design, market access strategy, and channel economics.
  • Drive Launch & Scenario Planning – Build and manage launch forecasts, sensitivity analyses, and risk adjusted scenarios addressing uptake variability and reimbursement uncertainty.
  • Partner with Accounting and Commercial on Gross-to-Net & Commercial KPIs – Monitor rebates, chargebacks, copay programs, and distribution fees while establishing metrics to evaluate launch performance and commercial ROI.
