Position Summary: The Vice President, Digital & Technology Transformation (Enterprise Strategy and Technology Partnerships) is the senior leader responsible for defining and executing Points of Light’s enterprise technology and digital transformation strategy. The role provides long-term vision and leadership across Salesforce, enterprise IT, data and analytics, AI and automation, customer care, and technology solutions that enable scalable business process improvement. Points of Light does not own proprietary volunteer technology platforms. Instead, this role identifies, evaluates, and activates strategic partnerships with leading CSR, employee engagement, and volunteer technology providers. Working closely with Corporate Partnerships and Global Programs & Impact, the Vice President ensures these partnerships advance volunteer scale, support the affiliate network, and contribute to the organization’s goal of doubling volunteerism while delivering sustainable revenue and or network value. The role serves as a senior external representative for technology partnerships and a trusted internal advisor, translating business and program priorities into effective, scalable technology solutions. Success requires strong business judgment, the ability to lead through influence, and executive presence with partners and external audiences.

Requirements

  • Executive presence with strong communication and influencing skills, including the ability to represent the organization credibly with external audiences.
  • Strategic thinker able to prioritize complex initiatives, balance competing demands, and drive disciplined execution.
  • Senior technology and transformation leader with experience driving enterprise-scale digital, operational, and business transformation.
  • Strong business judgment with the ability to connect technology recommendations to organizational priorities, partnership models, and sustainability.
  • Experience working with leading external technology platforms or ecosystems, preferably in CSR, employee engagement, or social impact, with ability to build deep partner relationships.
  • Deep expertise in Salesforce strategy, architecture, integration, governance, and adoption, with NPSP experience strongly preferred.
  • Solid background in enterprise IT operations, cybersecurity, cloud infrastructure, and vendor-managed environments.
  • Product-oriented mindset with experience delivering scalable, user-centered digital solutions using agile or iterative approaches.
  • Experience leading automation and AI-enabled initiatives.
  • Minimum of ten years of progressive leadership experience in technology, digital transformation, IT operations, or enterprise business transformation.
  • Bachelor's degree (BA or BS) or relevant work experience.

  • Experience operating effectively in environments where technology is delivered through partnerships and platforms rather than proprietary product ownership.
  • Comfort operating in ambiguity and helping define direction in growth-oriented organizations.
  • Nonprofit or social impact sector experience, particularly in federated models.

Responsibilities

  • Define and execute a multi-year enterprise technology and digital transformation strategy aligned with mission, growth, and operating priorities.
  • Advise the Chief Operating Officer and Executive Team on technology investments, data and AI strategy, and operational risk.
  • Lead an integrated enterprise roadmap across Salesforce, IT operations, automation, data governance, and business process improvement.
  • Translate business strategy into scalable technology architecture, investment decisions, and execution plans.
  • Act as a trusted advisor to senior leaders, influencing enterprise decisions through clear analysis and collaborative problem-solving.
  • Identify and assess external technology platforms that enable scalable delivery of Points of Light volunteer programming.
  • Partner with Corporate Partnerships and Global Programs & Impact to shape partnership models that generate revenue and or deliver measurable affiliate network value.
  • Support and influence partnership negotiations and governance.
  • Align partner platform capabilities with program strategy, data requirements, and impact measurement needs.
  • Ensure internal readiness, adoption, and effective use of partner-delivered solutions across the enterprise and affiliate network.
  • Represent Points of Light externally with partners and at industry forums as a credible technology and strategy leader.
  • Provide oversight of Salesforce strategy, architecture, integrations, data governance, and enterprise adoption.
  • Ensure digital platforms support volunteer mobilization, corporate engagement, affiliate needs, and scalable service delivery.
  • Apply a product management mindset and champion agile, iterative development practices.
  • Oversee enterprise IT operations including cloud services, cybersecurity, identity and access management, helpdesk, and vendor-managed services.
  • Maintain accountability for cybersecurity strategy, training, and incident response.
  • Ensure strong risk management, compliance, data protection, business continuity practices.
  • Lead vendor selection, contract negotiation, and performance management for MSP, MSSP, and development partners.
  • Enable enterprise business process redesign through technology to improve efficiency, scalability, service delivery, and margin.
  • Drive AI and automation initiatives that reduce manual work and improve decision-making and partner, affiliate, and customer experience.
  • Establish adoption strategies to ensure technology-enabled transformation is sustained.
  • Ensure disciplined enterprise portfolio management, including prioritization and delivery of complex, multi-year initiatives.
  • Establish governance that balances innovation, risk management, and operational excellence.
  • Oversee technology budgets, resources, and performance metrics to ensure accountability and return on investment.
  • Lead and develop high-performing, multi-disciplinary teams across technology, data, and digital operations.
  • Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration and continuous improvement.
