Job Description: US Healthcare Corporate Banking (HC CBK) is a market team comprised of 14 bankers and integrated with our Investment Banking partners. The group covers more than 90 global mid-, large- and mega-cap clients across all subsectors of the HC value chain including Pharma, Medical Devices and Healthcare Services. HC CBK is focused on delivering the complete suite of corporate banking products and services to large corporates, notably capital raising and advisory, acquisition financing, corporate finance, investment grade and high yield capital markets, FX, rates and commodity hedging, payments solutions and wealth management services. We are seeking a high performing Vice President to join our HC CBK team based in New York. The role is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast paced, relationship-driven environment and wants to deepen their strategic exposure to decision makers across the c-suite, treasury, capital markets and risk management. The VP will have a combination of primary responsibility for coverage of a select group of client relationships (growing over time) and partnering with senior Managing Directors on our largest and most complex healthcare relationships.

Requirements

  • 6-8 years of corporate, investment banking or capital markets experience
  • Strong working knowledge of bank products and capital solutions
  • Solid understanding of corporate finance and accounting concepts
  • Exceptional client facing skills, confident communicator able to manage senior level interactions
  • Proactive relationship orientated mindset – comfortable owning relationships and representing the bank across internal and external stakeholders
  • Undergraduate degree in Finance of Business adjacent
  • Interest in the healthcare space – prior industry experience welcome but not required

Responsibilities

  • Partner with senior MDs to co-cover some of our largest and most complex healthcare relationships. The scope of responsibility extends to originating new opportunities, executing capital raising / financing transactions, developing insightful corporate finance-geared analytics and helping to manage the broad based and global CBK relationship
  • Manage a portfolio of healthcare client relationships on your own with a growing account load over time
  • Drive wallet retention through frequent dialogue, client needs assessment and identification of cross-sell opportunities
  • Lead credit and bank capital allocation for your portfolio of clients, including financial analysis, risk assessment and approvals
  • Partner with product and regional teams to originate and execute banking and markets solutions that meet clients’ strategic objectives
  • Advise clients on topics across the corporate finance spectrum, including ratings advisory, capital allocation, shareholder payout (dividends and share repurchases), debt portfolio, acquisition financing, optimal leverage, among others
  • Support strategic growth initiatives with targeted research, pitch development and senior level presentations
  • Maintain rigorous pipeline discipline and contribute to business planning, forecasting and relationship review materials
  • Help mentor junior talent, promoting a high performance and collaborative team culture
