The Global Decision Science Team is seeking a Vice President for Consumer Prospect Marketing Decision Science at American Express. In this role, the leader will drive innovative machine learning solutions that enhance personalization across Gambit, advance Partner Logged-In and Media targeting, Proprietary Direct Mail targeting, and strengthen anti-gaming controls. This is a unique opportunity positioned at the intersection of advanced AI/ML and prospect marketing strategy. The VP will collaborate closely with product, technology, platform, and business partners to identify, design, and implement AI/ML approaches that deliver superior economics, profitable acquisition, and incremental efficiency. The role also includes leading a global team of data scientists across New York, Gurgaon, and Bangalore.

Requirements

  • Hands on expertise in developing modeling solutions with extensive experience in AI/ML modeling including experience in A/B testing
  • Track record of identifying and analyzing data science solutions
  • Excellent collaboration skills in partnering with diverse stakeholders to drive best in class decision science solutions
  • Ability to communication machine learning concepts, enhancements, and benefits to audience with different levels of AI expertise
  • Strong people leader with established expertise in building high performing and motivated teams
  • Graduate degree (PhD/Master) in Science, Engineering, Math/Stats, Economics, or other quantitative fields
  • 8-10 years of experience in AI/ML

Responsibilities

  • Develop next generation of machine learning solutions to advance personalization experience within Gambit starting with sensitivity solution for incentive and credit limit.
  • Building and deploying models that enhance prospect acquisition for co-brand cards through Partner channels and support People-Based Marketing campaigns across display and media platforms.
  • Designing the next generation of modeling solutions to further strengthen anti-gaming controls for both prospect and customer acquisitions.
  • Drive personalization experience on Amex website through effective use of digital intelligence
  • Collaborating with analytics, product, technology, and marketing teams to manage the end-to-end modeling lifecycle.
  • Driving operational excellence and ensuring strong governance of models and data strategy across key use cases.
