Derivatives Clearing Services (DCS) sits within HSBC’s Corporate and Institutional Bank, is responsible for providing clients the ability to execute and clear Futures and Options, as well as clear eligible Interest Rate Swaps, Inflation Swaps, and Credit Default Swap Indexes. A position is available for an ambitious, hard-working individual who’s keen to learn, build a strong skill set, and grow into a key member of the team. The role requires a proactive approach to supporting and servicing the desk’s largest clients, ensuring high-quality coverage and reliable back-up. As product knowledge and confidence develop, the successful candidate will be expected to engage existing clients more actively, helping to deepen relationships and strengthen our value proposition. Over time, and with increased experience and capability, the individual will take on broader responsibilities, with a clear pathway to developing and building their own client base in the future.

Requirements

  • University Degree or advanced qualifications and equivalent experience
  • Ability to work in a dynamic, entrepreneurial, fast-paced environment
  • A desire to learn, accompanied by a strong work ethic
  • Attention to details and strong follow-through

Responsibilities

  • Support the day-to-day operations of the desk
  • Onboard new accounts and clients onto the DCS platform
  • Address customer enquiries related to clearing, portfolio adjustments, and account issues
  • Handle client confirmations and bookings
  • Conduct daily credit checks, option expiries, and other requested tasks
  • Work closely with Operations and IT teams to minimise client experience issues or financial losses
  • Investigate OTC trade rejections and identify compression or blending opportunities
  • Support product coverage for internal stakeholders and house trading desks
  • Identify key functional enhancements to improve services to clients
  • Deliver fair outcomes for HSBC’s customers and ensure personal conduct maintains the orderly and transparent operation of financial markets
  • Maintain and build existing and new internal and external relationships as aptitude and expertise are demonstrated
  • Develop into a revenue producer within the DCS Sales business
  • Demonstrate behaviours consistent with HSBC’s diversity policy and the best interests of the business and its customers
