This position is for a VP in the Treasury Department at Compass Group's North America headquarters in Charlotte, NC. The role focuses on supporting enterprise-wide business initiatives by analyzing working capital, with a primary emphasis on improving cash flow in Accounts Receivable (A/R), Accounts Payable (A/P), Inventory, and Capital Expenditures. A successful candidate will be an analytical and creative thinker with strong systems and communication skills.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Finance or Accounting
  • 12+ years of accounting/finance/budgeting experience in a large organization
  • Management experience
  • Experience preparing and/or analyzing cash flows
  • Understanding of working capital and how it impacts the organization
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel, PowerBI, SAP, and Hyperion (HFM and/or Essbase)
  • Analytical and Problem-Solving Skills – Demonstrates fluidity to shift between the big picture and details
  • Accountability – Ability to work independently; prioritize and manage multiple projects in a deadline driven environment
  • Effective and Engaging Communicator - Ability to frame out complex scenarios in an easy-to-understand manner; ability to effectively communicate with associates at all levels of the organization

Responsibilities

  • Review monthly working capital reports for distribution to sector and corporate management (e.g. DSO scorecards, Major Debtors, Inventory Days)
  • Review monthly analyses and forecasts of A/R, A/P, Inventory, and Deferred Income with explanations for variances to prior year, previous forecast, and budget
  • Review overall North America working capital results, forecasts, and budgets for reasonableness and prepare high-level summaries for senior management
  • Lead in working with Financial Planning and Sector CFO’s in planning and funding large capital expenditures
  • Work with Sector Finance to understand recent trends, identify cash flow opportunities, and improve reporting
  • Propose and monitor sector working capital targets
  • Oversee conversion of Excel reports to interactive dashboards using PowerBI
  • Develop analyses and reports to identify opportunities to improve DSO (Days Sales Outstanding) and DPO (Days Payable Outstanding) and work with other departments to implement changes
  • Represent Treasury in Data Strategies and S4 Continuous Improvement projects and development
  • Review the weekly cash forecast and lead P6 and P12 cash tracking and cash flow flash process
  • Oversight of Treasury balance sheet and controls
  • Provide guidance and oversight of the Treasury Strategies and Healthcare Treasury teams including review of the daily cash position and coordination of bank accounts and services
  • Participate in the analysis of efficiency and effectiveness of current departmental processes and procedures, and implement identified improvements
  • UK Group Parent lead in managing cash flow positioning and funding needs
  • Assist in managing banking relationships and develop best practices across Treasury
  • Special projects as requested for sector finance and senior management
  • Supervise two Senior Managers
