STUDENT-VIC Radio Music Director ('26-'27)
About The Position
VIC Radio is seeking a Music Director for the 2026-2027 academic year. This student role involves communicating with music promoters, bands, and labels to manage the station's music intake, and leading a listening committee to select new music for rotation. The ideal candidate will be organized, detail-oriented, a strong communicator, and a collaborative team player. They must also be able to attend weekly VIC Radio Executive Staff and General Staff meetings, and have been a member of VIC Radio for at least one semester. Ithaca College's student employment program aims to provide meaningful experiential learning opportunities, developing transferable skills and fostering personal and professional growth by applying classroom knowledge in real-world professional settings. Requirements
- Comfortable communicating with music promoters, bands, and labels
- Organized and detail-oriented
- Strong communicator both in-person and via email
- Able to attend weekly VIC Radio Executive Staff meetings and General Staff meetings
- Has been a member of VIC Radio for at least one semester
- A collaborative team player
Responsibilities
- Communicate with music promoters, bands, and labels to ensure delivery and receipt of new music to the station
- Lead a listening committee to help select new music added to our rotation
- Attend weekly VIC Radio Executive Staff meetings
- Attend weekly General Staff meetings
