About The Position

We’re a small business Department of Defense/Department of War contractor who does training systems for US warfighters. We are looking for a Vibe Programmer who builds fast, experiments fearlessly, and turns half-formed ideas into working software before the coffee gets cold. This role is about momentum, intuition, and iteration. You’ll prototype, ship, refactor, and repeat. Should be comfortable coding without a fully written spec, collaborating with AI tools, and trusting your instincts—while still knowing when it’s time to clean things up and make them solid.

Requirements

• This position does not require a specific degree; relevant skills and equivalent experience will be considered.
• Candidates should be able to demonstrate proficiency through real-world examples of their work.
• Strong practical programming skills in at least one modern language (JavaScript/TypeScript, Python, Go, Ruby, etc.)
• Comfort coding with minimal requirements or evolving goals.
• Experience (or strong interest) in AI-assisted development workflows
• Good instincts for product, UX, and developer experience
• Willingness to break things, fix them, and improve them quickly through iterative experimentation
• Ability to balance speed with responsibility (you know when “good enough” is enough—and when it isn’t)
• Will keep working day and night until the software works, ensuring we meet customer schedules.
• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
• Excellent time-management skills.
• Must possess multi-tasking, organizational, and planning skills;
• Excellent written and spoken communication skills for documentation, intra-team, and interdisciplinary communication.

Responsibilities

• Rapidly prototype ideas and turn them into working code
• Use AI-assisted tools (ChatGPT, Copilot, Cursor, etc.) to accelerate development
• Iterate based on feedback, usage, and “does this feel right?”
• Build MVPs, internal tools, and experiments that may evolve into production systems
• Refactor and harden successful prototypes once they prove value
• Collaborate closely with product, design, and other engineers in short feedback loops
