The County of Los Angeles is recruiting highly motivated and career-minded individuals to fill the position of Veteran Intern, Office and Clerical. Requirements

  • No experience required; however, the veteran must have been discharged or released from active duty in the United States Armed Forces under honorable conditions.
  • Some assignments may require a valid California Class C Driver License to perform job?related essential duties, or the ability to utilize an alternative method of transportation when needed to carry out job-related essential functions.
  • A valid DD214, Certificate of Discharge or Separation from Active Duty, is required.
  • Applicants who have been previously appointed as a Veteran Intern, Office and Clerical Support for more than 18 accumulative months will not be accepted.

Responsibilities

  • Functions as a receptionist in a variety of settings and files, and sorts and arranges documents, correspondence, or other materials.
  • Assists the public by providing directions, instructions, and responses to basic inquiries in person or by telephone.
  • Uses keyboarding skills to prepare plain or corrected copy, draft letters, reports, vouchers, receipts, permits, lists or schedules.
  • Receives payment and fees, valuables, and issues receipts for selling merchandise at a cashier's window.
  • Assists in compiling, arranging, and tabulating routine statistical-financial data.
  • Assists in the procurement of supplies, equipment, and services.
  • Collects and delivers correspondence, records, packages, etc., on regular messenger rounds upon request.
