About The Position

Veteran Care Excellence Nurse Supervisor (RN/LPN) RN or LPN (Strong Preference for U.S. Military Veterans) Position Summary Optalis Healthcare is seeking a compassionate and mission-driven RN or LPN to provide leadership and oversight for our VA unit and veteran resident population. This leader will ensure exceptional quality of care, support meaningful engagement, and foster a community of dignity, respect, and service among those who have served our nation. We are strongly encouraging U.S. military veterans to apply , especially those with prior military medical experience or a history of supervising teams. Key Responsibilities Provide daily operational oversight of the VA unit and support the care coordination for all veteran residents. Complete timely and comprehensive clinical assessments, ensuring all documentation meets regulatory and internal compliance standards. Provide leadership, coaching, and direction to nursing staff, ensuring accountability and adherence to clinical protocols. Support and expand veteran-centered activities, peer groups, and engagement initiatives. Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to address clinical, social, emotional, and rehabilitative needs. Maintain compliance with all facility, state, federal, and VA-related care standards. Serve as a knowledgeable advocate and point of support for veteran residents and their families.

Requirements

  • Active RN or LPN license in good standing.
  • Minimum of two years of clinical leadership or supervisory experience.
  • Demonstrated understanding of veteran-specific healthcare needs, trauma-informed care, and/or VA care processes.
  • Strong interpersonal communication, clinical judgment, and organizational skills.
  • We strongly encourage military veterans—including those with medical backgrounds such as 68C/91C—to apply. (However, all qualified candidates will be considered regardless of veteran status.)

  • Supervisor/Manager Training
  • Basic Life Support (BLS)
  • Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS)
  • Gerontological or Long-Term Care certification(s)
  • Mental Health First Aid or Crisis Intervention training
  • VA-specific training programs or experience working with VA care teams
