Friendship is looking for a Full Time Nurse Supervisor, RN/LPN to join our Friendship Richfield Health Center team, located in Salem, VA. The Nurse Supervisor is responsible for direct nursing care to the residents, and to supervise the day-to-day nursing activities performed by nursing assistants. Full-Time RN/LPN Sign On Bonus - $10,000 paid out in equal installments over 40 pay periods Shifts Available: 7:00 a.m. - 7:00 p.m. Saturday, Sunday, and 1 weekday

Requirements

  • Unencumbered RN or LPN license in the state of Virginia required
  • BLS required/ACLS preferred
  • Supervisory experience preferred
  • Experience in a long-term care/nursing facility preferred
  • This position is very active and requires standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, and crouching all day. The employee must frequently lift or move objects weighing over 50 pounds

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for all nursing activity occurring on his/her shift and will serve as the first responder in the event of an emergency
  • Responsible for the well-being and care of all residents
  • Observe resident care; document condition changes, significant reactions and incidents
  • Directs activities of nursing staff, assigns and supervises all duties; determines staffing needs and handles disciplinary actions as needed
  • Supervises medication administration including Medication Administration (MAR) reviews, changes, discontinued medications, etc.
  • Implement all physician orders including proper documentation on MAR and ordering of medication
  • Prepare documentation to accompany residents to medical appointments; schedule transportation to appointments as needed
  • Assure resident care plan is followed
  • Responsible for ordering bloodwork, maintaining supplies for wound care, blood glucose testing and incontinence, control drug counts and inventory; administers injections as needed
  • Supervise administration of prescribed diets and fluid intake/output and ensures proper documentation and notification is provided to the physician
