About The Position

The Vendor Manager, within the Safety Surveillance and Aggregate reports team, is responsible for managing and oversight (timely, quality standards) of the vendors within the SSA team. These vendors are responsible for writing and project managing the aggregate reports, and external data mining activities.

Responsibilities

  • Vendor Management/Governance/Oversight: Update all relevant documents for vendors on a yearly basis or more frequently as required
  • Lead cross-functional discussions to ensure compliance with vendor oversight plans
  • Formulate and manage the tracking of partnership goals for assigned vendors
  • Establish SharePoint site (where applicable) to track vendor contracts/meeting minutes for audit purposes
  • Audit / Inspection Readiness
  • Contracts: Initiate/finalize Scopes of Work on behalf of the business with input from relevant stakeholders
  • Facilitate contract execution by collaborating with relevant stakeholders
  • Maintain effective tracking of contracts and POs, to include expiry, change orders, scope to assist operations/upper management with the monitoring of this work
  • Monitor active contracts for compliance to review requirements, and implement strategies to ensure compliance or corrective actions
  • Finance and Forecasting: Manage day-to-day activity reporting and tracking needs and invoice approval (as applicable)
  • Ensure available and approved funds for requested contracts prior to processing
  • Continuously track existing purchase orders to ensure compliance with Biogen financial policies and track active spend against negotiated contract value
  • Clarify function’s financial reporting responsibilities with Finance
  • Track original forecast and perform regular reevaluation of approved budget as it relates to the business need
  • Track and confirm vendor volume rebates where applicable to ensure savings are consistent with agreements
  • Business Capabilities: Lead functional groups to identify and define optimal business models to support business goals. Ensure operational model meets defined strategic key performance indicators (KPIs) crucial to business success.
  • Provide ongoing leadership and oversight to ensure a consistent and compliant approach to understanding SSA needs along with a focus on continuous improvement in an effort to identify efficiencies.
  • Lead cross functional discussion forums to enhance best practice standards through incorporation of lessons learned, plus delta, after action reviews, industry trends and audit experiences with a continued focus on quality
  • Liaise with internal Business Process and Training personnel, Line Managers, PON and R&D Learning to generate appropriate training that will ensure compliance with revised processes
