The Vehicle Operator operates assigned vehicles to transport authorized personnel or cargo. In this role you drive vehicles from an individual or central loading area to destination, training location, or to location as directed. This role requires a valid Commercial Driver’s License Class A or B with “P” and “S” endorsements and a current medical card. You will participate in the DOT Program. In this position you present a professional appearance and are willing to work a flexible schedule. This is a full time flex schedule, onsite role at Maxwell Airforce Base, Montgomery, AL.

Requirements

  • Possess a valid Commercial Driver’s License Class A or B with “P” and “S” endorsements.
  • Possess and maintain a current DOT medical certification.
  • Receive refresher training as required.
  • Receive and maintain CPR/ First aid certification.
  • Able to lift/push/pull up to 20 lbs.
  • U.S. Citizenship.

Responsibilities

  • Drives assigned vehicles transporting passengers and cargo to various locations within and outside the military installation.
  • Operates a variety of vehicle types to include cars, trucks, vans, buses.
  • Operate radio or similar device for communication purposes.
  • Clean vehicles and service them with fuel, lubricants, and accessories.
  • Keep accurate records of trips and/or behavior of passengers.
  • Assist with the loading and loading of vehicles.
  • Responsible for accomplishing the vehicle operator’s inspection documentation.
  • Responsible for pre and post trip procedures on all vehicles assigned to operate and required documentation.
  • Accurately and immediately report all vehicle discrepancies on vehicles assigned.
  • Required to participate in a DOT program.
  • Present a professional appearance and be willing to work a flexible schedule.
  • While on shift, when dispatched on runs, the assignment cannot be turned down, regardless of seniority. All dispatched runs are a required assignment for mission support.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor.
