The incumbent will be part of a three-person maintenance crew, providing essential maintenance and repair on internal combustion automobiles to include buses, trucks, tractors, fire response vehicles, heavy equipment and recreational vehicles.

Requirements

  • High school diploma with five years of related experience in heavy construction.
  • Successful completion of a formal motor vehicle mechanic apprenticeship.
  • A combination of training and experience may substitute for formal certification.
  • Must be able to speak, write, read and understand the English language.
  • Must have a valid state driver's license with an acceptable driving record.
  • Must pass background and drug test requirements.
  • Must be U.S. citizen.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience working on a government contract and/or a military installation.
  • Current Secret Clearance.

Responsibilities

  • Diagnose/trouble-shoot, repair, rebuild, and/or maintain various types of motor vehicles and vehicle-related systems and sub-systems including engines, drive train, brakes, pump assemblies, hydraulic systems, transmissions, fuel injection systems lighting systems, ignition systems, safety systems, etc.
  • Use various hand, power and shop tools to effect maintenance and repair actions.
