About The Position

Job Description Main Function Manage the North American Vehicle Forecasting process by providing vehicle production forecast information to our Adient teams to help them prepare their revenue and EBIT forecasts for leadership. Provide systems support to our Information Technologies team for our internal forecasting systems. Train other regional vehicle analysts / managers how to use our forecasting system, the impact on financial results and teach them how to become better vehicle analysts. Analyze North American automotive sector. Analyze North American automotive sector. Prepare reports for Adient organization detailing changes in sales patterns, inventory shifts, and vehicle production schedules which could present risks or opportunities to our quarterly production forecasts.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Economics, Finance or related field.
  • Minimum of 8 years of experience with 5 years in Automotive / Manufacturing industries; preferably in the areas of forecasting, economics, finance, product planning, or material scheduling.
  • Proficient in Excel and PowerPoint.

  • Tier 1 Supplier and/or OEM experience is preferred.
  • Focused on excellent customer satisfaction and disciplinary relationship building.
  • Excellent qualitative and quantitative economic and market research skills.
  • Ability to keep a perspective of economic/market variables while weighing sales/ inventory/production patterns for each vehicle and the competitive pressures each vehicle faces as new or redesigned vehicles enter the marketplace.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with Adient Account Managers to obtain the most up-to-date future vehicle planning information.
  • Prepare daily updates to long-range forecast information in global forecasting system.
  • Disseminate global planning intel to other regional vehicle analysts / managers.
  • Work with North American operations team to review the latest schedule information from our customers and help shape the short-term forecast assumptions contained in our quarterly forecast publications.
  • Cultivate a deep understanding of the North American automotive market.
  • Monitor North American economic information which will help support your perspective of how these economic factors could influence the automotive sector.
  • Track production, sales, and inventory information for all vehicles sold and produced in the North American market.
  • Harnessing all the information listed above, prepare and present quarterly vehicle production forecast for the North American region.
  • Meet with a wide variety of Adient team members to review the preliminary forecast and gain a collaborative agreement on forecast assumptions.
  • Present final presentation of quarterly forecast to executive leadership.
  • Ability to understand the impact of volume movements on financial results impacting earnings as well as cash flows.
  • Provide support to our Adient IT team to help refine and optimize our forecasting system.
  • Prepare forecast reports which range from weekly downtime reports to our monthly global vehicle forecast outlook.
  • Collaborate with a cross-functional team of opportunity analysts, IT, and the forecasting system support team to help drive improvements in the forecasting processes.
  • Strive to provide the Adient team with the best forecast information available to help them in both their short and long-range planning efforts.
