The Vehicle Acquisition Manager plays a critical role in that mission by driving inventory strategy and securing high-quality vehicles that meet customer demand. This position is responsible for proactively sourcing, evaluating, and acquiring vehicles through multiple channels to ensure each store maintains the right inventory mix while maximizing profitability and turn.

Requirements

  • Experience in automotive sales, used car management, or vehicle acquisition
  • Strong understanding of vehicle valuation tools (Dealerslink, Kelley Blue Book, Manheim, etc.)
  • Proven ability to negotiate and make data-driven decisions
  • Self-motivated with a high sense of urgency and accountability
  • Ability to build relationships both internally and externally
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced, performance-driven environment
  • Strong organizational and communication skills
  • Valid driver’s license

Responsibilities

  • Proactively source vehicles through service drive and or local market opportunities.
  • Create and execute a consistent vehicle acquisition strategy to support store sales goals
  • Accurately appraise vehicles using market data, tools, and dealership guidelines
  • Partner closely with Sales and Service teams to understand inventory needs, reconditioning timelines, and cost structure
  • Monitor market trends and adjust strategies to stay competitive
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with service advisors and customers
  • Negotiate purchase prices to ensure strong front-end gross and inventory turn
  • Track and report on service drive performance
  • Ensure all acquired inventory meets Swope standards and is processed efficiently
  • Assist in driving a culture of urgency around inventory turn and aged unit reduction
