About The Position

This person will serve as the agency Vehicle Coordinator and the Assistant Travel Coordinator. Requirements

  • Requires knowledge, skill, and mental development equivalent to completion of four (4) years of college, preferably with coursework in business or public administration.
  • Requires one (1) year of responsible administrative experience in a public or business organization, or completion of an agency approved professional management training program.
  • Requires two (2) years of experience managing a government motor pool fleet.
  • Requires two (2) years of experience working with government travel rules and regulations.
  • Requires ability to travel in the performance of duties, with overnight stays as appropriate.
  • Requires appropriate, valid driver’s license.
  • Overtime is a condition of employment, and you may be requested or required/mandated to work overtime including scheduled, unscheduled, or last-minute overtime. This may require the ability to work evenings and weekends.
  • Requires completion of a background check and self-disclosure of criminal history.
  • This position is considered medium work as defined by the U.S. Department of Labor (20 CFR 404.1567(c)). Medium work involves lifting no more than 50 pounds at a time with frequent lifting or carrying of objects weighing up to 25 pounds.

Nice To Haves

  • Prefers two (2) years of experience managing a government motor pool fleet.
  • Prefers two (2) years of experience working with government travel rules and regulations.
  • Prefers two (2) years of experience managing multiple databases, including cloud-based platforms, spreadsheets, and third-party database programs.
  • Prefers one (1) year of experience in program management, including planning, execution, and evaluation of program outcomes.
  • Prefers one (1) year of demonstrated experience in developing, implementing, and overseeing agency-wide policies and procedures, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and regulatory requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Serves as Agency Vehicle Coordinator and manages the Department of Commerce and Economic Opportunity (DCEO) motor pool fleet.
  • Serves as Assistant Travel Coordinator.
  • Provides backup support for the Agency’s Chicago Management Operations team.
  • Performs other duties as required or assigned which are reasonably within the scope of the duties enumerated above.
