About The Position

VIC the PICC ("VTP") is a specialized healthcare provider offering vascular access consulting services to acute care hospitals, skilled nursing facilities, and home healthcare. They provide vascular access device insertion services, post-access support including declotting, line removal, port access, and venous access troubleshooting. VTP is seeking Registered Nurses with ultrasound-guided IV (USGIV) experience for full-time roles, offering paid training in PICC line insertion. Experienced PICC nurses are also welcome for Per Diem or Full-Time positions. As a Vascular Access Nurse Consultant, you will collaborate with customer clinical teams to resolve venous access issues, facilitating treatment objectives. This role offers a unique opportunity to work in various settings, both inside and outside hospitals, observing diverse treatment protocols and patient challenges, and provides an alternative to traditional demanding nursing shifts.

Requirements

  • Registered Nurse with current license
  • Minimum of 3 years' experience in acute care preferred
  • American Heart BLS Certification
  • Experience placing ultrasound-guided IVs.
  • Experience with other vascular access device (VAD) placements using ultrasound.
  • Experience in vascular access device management, including care, maintenance, and troubleshooting.
  • Ability to work independently
  • Fulfill scheduling requirements as indicated by job classification (Full-time: three to four days per week, including weekends, and participation in the holiday rotation; Part-time: minimum of 4 scheduled shifts per month, including weekends, and participation in the holiday rotation).
  • Possess a current and valid driver's license and auto insurance
  • Must possess a smart phone
  • Access to reliable transportation for travel to patient sites

  • Experienced PICC nurses
  • Experienced in both ultrasound guided IV (USGIV) placements and vascular access device (VAD) insertions
  • Fully trained vascular access nurses

Responsibilities

  • Place PICCs, midlines and peripheral IVs with ultrasound and use ECG confirmation.
  • Assist with management of PICCs and Vascular Access devices.
  • Provide a wide range of vascular access support services including but not limited to port access, removal of lines, declotting, etc.
  • Educate facility nursing staff regarding PICCs, midlines and many other CVAD's
  • Visit patients in different customer facilities and therefore must be willing to travel to customer facilities and able to fulfill scheduling requirements as indicated based on business needs.
