About The Position

VIC the PICC ("VTP") is a specialized healthcare provider offering vascular access consulting services to acute care hospitals, skilled nursing facilities, and home healthcare. They provide vascular access device insertion services, post-access support, continuing education, precepting, and other educational support to clinical team members and customers. VTP delivers on-site and mobile vascular access support services across the Western and Southern United States, focusing on innovative, affordable, and easy-to-procure services with high client and patient satisfaction. As a Vascular Access Nurse Consultant, you will collaborate with customer clinical teams to resolve venous access issues, facilitating treatment objectives. This role offers a unique opportunity to work in various settings, both inside and outside hospitals, observing different treatment protocols and patient challenges, and is ideal for nurses seeking a change from traditional long shifts and rushed patient care.

Requirements

  • Registered Nurse with current license
  • American Heart BLS Certification
  • Experience placing ultrasound-guided IVs
  • Experience with other vascular access device (VAD) placements using ultrasound
  • Experience in vascular access device management, including care, maintenance, and troubleshooting
  • Ability to work independently
  • Fulfill scheduling requirements as indicated by job classification
  • Possess a current and valid driver's license and auto insurance
  • Must possess a smart phone
  • Access to reliable transportation for travel to patient sites

Nice To Haves

  • Minimum of 3 years' experience in acute care
  • Experienced in both ultrasound guided IV (USGIV) placements and vascular access device (VAD) insertions
  • Fully trained vascular access nurses

Responsibilities

  • Place PICCs, midlines and peripheral IVs with ultrasound and use ECG confirmation
  • Assist with management of PICCs and Vascular Access devices
  • Provide a wide range of vascular access support services including but not limited to port access, removal of lines, declotting, etc.
  • Educate facility nursing staff regarding PICCs, midlines and many other CVAD's
  • Travel to customer facilities
  • Fulfill scheduling requirements as indicated based on business needs
