Union Tank Car Company is seeking applicants to become a Valve Specialist at our full-service rail tank car repair shop in Cleveland, Texas. The Company’s regulatory, engineering and commercial expertise make UTLX the preferred source of railcars and services for many of its customers. We are seeking a 3rd shift Valve Technician for our Valve shop that will perform assembly and disassembly processes, as well as additional responsibilities as needed. The rate of pay for this role will be $26.59-$28.10 plus shift differential.

Requirements

Must possess a High School Diploma/GED; or have the ability to successfully complete an on-site basic skills assessment.
Must have strong mechanical abilities and be familiar with power tools.
Legally can work in US now & future without sponsorship (preferred)

Responsibilities

Removes, cleans, repairs, tests, and applies valves and fittings when required.
Disassembles and assembles fittings on tank cars.
Tests tank car, fittings, and valves to reveal possible defects.
Rebuilds tank car fittings and valves; tests them using specified methods.
Maintains stock levels of and issues tools, spare parts, safety equipment, and related repair and repair support items to production, maintenance, and other production support personnel.
Performs inspection to issued items to ensure that they are safe and in satisfactory condition.
Maintains work area in a neat and orderly manner and reports potential hazards.
