About The Position

Principal Duties and Responsibilities: Evaluate and repair control, safety, relief, gate, globe, check, ball, butterfly and plug valves. Evaluate and repair pneumatic, hydraulic and electric actuators. Pre-testing, disassembly, cleaning, in-process inspection, machining, lapping, surface preparation, painting, assembly, testing, and final inspection on various types of valves and actuators. Calibration and testing of valves, related instruments and process instrumentation. Document repair, testing and assembly activities - cause of failure, actions taken, parts used, etc. Set up and take down of required repair equipment on site and in the shop. Customer communication - technical assistance, troubleshooting and determining disposition of repairs. Execute work in adherence to the guidelines stated under a National Board VR/UV program. Reference appropriate technical sources. Complete site-specific safety requirements. Maintain driver eligibility. Maintain a clean work environment Participation and involvement in Safety and Quality programs. Physical Demands: Lift objects weighing up to 44lbs Turning and twisting while lifting or moving Navigate/climb stairs, ladders and scaffolding at client and customer sites at least 10- 30 feet in the air and sometimes higher Travel: Overnight travel required Work is performed at Control Southern repair facilities and customer locations. Qualifications: Preferred 1-3 years industry related experience (i.e. valve, pump or actuator) and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and Welding and machining ability is a plus A valid driver’s license and the ability to be insured on company insurance Required Competencies Excellent communication (verbal & written), interpersonal and customer relations skills - exhibit an ability to effectively communicate with plant personnel. Must be able operate repair equipment namely; overhead cranes, forklifts, sand blasters, seat facing machines, lift assist devices and power tools.

Requirements

A valid driver’s license and the ability to be insured on company insurance

Nice To Haves
