About The Position

Provides expertise within Supply Chain Management and designated facilities through practical application and critical thinking derived from an extensive background hospital, supply chain, and clinical experience of nursing experience. Serves as clinical liaison to executive leadership to maintain and communicate Key Performance Indicators (KPI) for clinical and financial performance measurements related to Clinical Value Analysis. Serves as a resource for maintaining balance between optimal clinical outcomes, promoting excellence in quality of care with appropriate product utilization and supply stewardship. Serves as Supply Chain liaison with physicians, clinical areas, and vendors to facilitate the resolution of clinical issues resulting from the standardization of or introduction of products and vendors. Serves as liaison to Value Analysis Teams to ensure that each team achieves annual target savings goals while representing Supply Chain Management and System-wide needs. Primary clinical focus includes, but not limited to high-cost, supply-intense areas such as acute care nursing, peri-operative services, cardiology, and diagnostic imaging for the following functions: • product and technology assessment, • consumable product evaluation, selection and standardization • supply utilization, benchmarking, monitoring, outcomes management

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • RN preferred.
  • Minimum two years supply chain or clinical experience in a procedural environment.
  • Broad understanding of clinical practices, safety and quality issues.
  • Demonstrated successful interaction with various levels of physician, clinician and administrative staff.
  • Uses appropriate interpersonal skills, styles and methods to guide individuals and/or groups toward organizational and department goal achievement.
  • Develops positive working relationships with physicians, staff and community partners.
  • Develops and maintains a team-oriented approach.
  • Follows through on commitments while performing job responsibilities in a manner consistent with the organization’s mission and values.

  • Skill in cost effective procurement, inventory and stockroom practices including utilizing software applications that streamline and maximize purchasing and inventory functions.
  • Ability to work independently.
  • Ability to communicate effectively, conduct complex negotiations and establish and maintain effective working relationships with the staff and vendors.
  • Ability to gather and analyze data and prepare/present analyses to various audiences.
  • Conducts business in a professional and cordial manner that upholds the integrity and reputation of Mount Nittany Health System.
  • Proficient with Excel, Word an dthe desire to master the Oracle functions for supply chain.
