About The Position

The Director of Clinical Value Analysis is responsible for establishing and leading efforts for driving positive change by identifying, evaluating and implementing opportunities that support the health care organization’s clinical expense agenda and other levers of financial and operational optimization. The position is also responsible for reduction of unnecessary clinical variation, executing product standardization, increase revenue, and improve quality as Director of the system-wide value analysis function. Facilitates and maintains system-wide value analysis committees across major spend/usage categories that foster collaboration between Supply Chain, clinical staff, and hospital administrative leaders. Establishes and maintains relationships with key West Tennessee Healthcare stakeholders (physicians, clinicians, leadership) and vendor partners.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree required (Business related, Health Administration, or Nursing) with minimum 3 years’ experience managing an operational budget and leading people.
  • RN required with minimum 3 years of procedural based experience (OR, Cath Lab, Interventional Radiology, GI Lab, etc.).
  • Knowledge of hospital and departmental policies and procedures, forms, hospital inventory control, vendors, hospital accounting system, and hospital EMR.
  • Proficiency in interrupting and negotiating of contracts.
  • Cost control and evaluation of products as normally acquired through 3 years of experience in supply chain within healthcare or related field.

Responsibilities

  • Provides oversight and leadership while facilitating value analysis meetings such as facility based, division based, service line or physician specific. Ensuring proper representation from system facilities, encouraging participation of hospital leaders and clinicians, fostering collaboration, and see to it that defined value analysis processes are followed.
  • Supports value analysis implementations at the system and hospital level.
  • Develops a process based on factors such as value, difficulty, organizational significance, etc.
  • Utilize clinical product value analysis committees to review products and technology for clinical evidence and benefit; discuss financial considerations to include contract compliance, cost and reimbursement.
  • Identify opportunities for standardize products and reduce waste; and maintain or increases product quality and patient outcomes.
  • Assists clinical and Supply Chain operations as needed in implementation of new product requests.
  • Oversees the use and development of appropriate technology, workflow tools, analytics and benchmarking solutions to drive best practice value analysis processes and activities.
  • Develop relationships and collaborates with facility leadership and staff, physicians, and supply chain to identify, develop, and implement continuous quality improvement and cost containment processes for supplies, technology and labor practice.
  • Develops/monitors departmental metrics to facilitate process improvement, system performance, and the measurement of impact of value analysis initiatives.
  • Effectively communicates supply chain strategies and successfully elicit support and assistance in implementing those strategies.
