About The Position
The VALOR DFM (Design for Manufacturing) Engineer for the Aerospace & Defense Division will perform design for manufacturing analysis using the VALOR platform. This analysis evaluates electronics PCBA assembly layout to ensure adherence with IPC guidelines, component manufacturer specifications/recommendations, and industry standard practices. The engineer will then qualify and quantify the VALOR output report using a standard format, presenting a risk assessment for potential design modifications aimed at improving manufacturability, quality, and yield.
Requirements
- Candidate must be a US Citizen in order to comply with ITAR and DFAR requirements
- Engineering B.S. degree (Electrical)
- Experience managing/viewing PCB files and viewers: Cadence/Allegro ODB++ Gerber/ASCII files KiCAD Siemens Xpedition CAMvu
- Experience in search/interpretation of electronics part data, component libraries
- Component engineering experience
- 3 years of experience in basic PCB design guidelines (Real Estate constraints/component proximity, thermal relief, copper density/distribution, trace/pad copper balance, etc.)
- PCB panel/Array design

- PCBA assembly experience desired (SMT/Pin through hole, Press fit interconnects)
