About The Position

Ellwood Crankshaft Group (ECG) is the world's leading manufacturer of large, one-of-a-kind, multiple-throw crankshafts, servicing the locomotive, shipping, mechanical press, oil and gas, and compression markets. ECG has four facilities throughout PA and is seeking a full-time Utility Maintenance Technician for its facility in Hermitage, PA, who will also assist all locations as needed. This non-exempt position involves completing CNC and manual equipment preventative maintenance schedules, including fluid, filter, and media refreshments. Additionally, the role requires leading the operation and set-up of the full-throw fatigue tester at Ellwood Crankshaft and Machine, including setups and computer interfacing. Full training will be provided, but proven knowledge of hydraulic and pneumatic systems is required.

Requirements

  • Intermediate knowledge of hydraulic and pneumatic systems
  • Mechanical/Analytical skills demonstrated via an examination
  • Proficiency with common hand tools and power tools
  • Strong computer skills
  • Familiar with manufacturing processes and machining equipment
  • Machine tool experience or manufacturing equipment working knowledge
  • Must have a standard mechanics set of tools, including wrenches, sockets and screwdrivers
  • One or more years of experience in a manufacturing environment
  • Ability to troubleshoot equipment issues
  • Strong analytical and problem solving abilities
  • Ability to read/interpret blueprints and schematics
  • Ability to work well with a team as well as independently and be very self-motivated
  • Must be results oriented with a strong desire to succeed
  • Proven track record of continuous improvement
  • High School diploma or equivalent
  • Valid driver’s license

Responsibilities

  • Preventative maintenance on machine tools for Hydraulics and Pneumatics systems
  • Performing oil, filter and line changes
  • Monitoring machine coolant condition and providing correction as needed
  • Ensuring machine preventative maintenance schedules are performed on a regular basis
  • Providing preventative maintenance to mobile equipment and vehicles
  • Assisting with other duties, assignments, and projects as required
  • Operating overhead cranes, forklifts, and material handling equipment
  • Assisting Maintenance Dept personnel with machine repairs and scheduled PM activity
  • Supporting production personnel and provide periodic training for daily preventive maintenance activity
