About The Position

Under direct and general supervision, the USW Sheet Metal Mechanic 1st Class will be assigned to maintenance jobs requiring comprehensive knowledge gained from broad and varied experience in maintenance. The role demands thorough experience in maintenance methods and procedures for various plant buildings, facilities, systems, and equipment. The mechanic will operate vehicles, handling equipment, cranes (mobile and overhead), and other mechanical equipment as needed. Responsibilities also include handling tools, parts, equipment of all types, and maintenance materials, along with performing other incidental duties and assignments.

Requirements

• Comprehensive knowledge of the work gained by a broad and varied experience in maintenance
• Thoroughly experienced in the maintenance methods and procedures required for the various plant building, facilities, systems, and equipment
• Internal employees must be in current position for (1) year or greater to be eligible to apply
• Pre-Employment Physical (office or field work)
• Drug Screen
• The ability to obtain/maintain "L" or "Q" Clearance one year from hire date
• Background Check
• Any site required training
• Must be able to wear company provided respiratory and other personal protective equipment when required
• Available to start work with Fluor-BWXT Portsmouth LLC within a reasonable time frame after acceptance of FBP’s offer of employment (typically 30 days or less)

Responsibilities
