UST Repair Manager

About The Position

Provide leadership and operational oversight for the repair, maintenance, and performance of Underground Storage Tank (UST) systems across Sheetz stores and associated properties. Accountable for ensuring regulatory compliance, system integrity, and cost-effective execution of repair activities while minimizing operational disruption. Under the guidance of UST Operations leadership, drive inspection programs, contractor performance, and continuous improvement initiatives to maximize UST system integrity and reliability, mitigate environmental risk, and maintain compliance with Federal, State, and local laws.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in business, Environmental Science, Safety Science, or other related field required.
Minimum 5 years’ experience in managing UST system repairs required.
Minimum 3 years’ supervisory experience required.

Nice To Haves

Previous experience in completing UST system repairs preferred.
Previous experience maintaining the compliance of UST Systems preferred.
Certified UST Installer certification preferred
Certified UST Class A/B Operator preferred

Responsibilities

Define measurable, individual performance goals for the direct reports under your supervision and provide them feedback on their performance of their assigned goals via periodic performance reviews utilizing the Sheetz-provided personnel management system program.
Lead the Sheetz UST Monthly Inspection Program with accountability for regulatory compliance, prioritization of inspection findings, and oversight of the repair and maintenance actions generated throughout the operating year.
Support the daily operation of our UST systems by managing the completion of repair needs that are identified by internal Sheetz resources including Store Support, CLI, and Store Operations.
Collaborate with the UST Compliance team by coordinating the execution of the more complex repairs identified during routine compliance testing by 3rd party vendors.
Ensure all repairs conducted on Sheetz UST systems, preserve the overall integrity, regulatory compliance, and trouble-free performance of the UST system, and deliver the organization the maximum ROI from each project.
Control repair-related expenditures by assessing required completion timelines based on operational needs, regulatory requirements and risk mitigation considerations, and by pursing competitive bids and/or cost-effective options when time permits.
Select and oversee a network of 3rd party petroleum contractors to deliver repair & maintenance services across Sheetz ensuring timely response, consistent quality work. and accountability for performance.
Provide proactive, clear communication to internal stakeholders regarding upcoming UST repair activities to minimize operational impact, while maintaining accurate, up-to-date, and regulation-compliant records of all UST maintenance and repair work.
Partner with UST Operations and Store Development leadership to forecast program expenditures, develop accurate store-level expense budgets, and evaluate new UST equipment, vendors, and installation practices to improve system performance and reduce overall costs.
Participate in 24/7 Emergency On-Call rotation, to provide Spill Response coordination and/or provide management of other Environmental Emergencies for Sheetz and its affiliated organizations.
