About The Position

Welcomes and tends to patrons in a polite and friendly manner, checks and/or scans admission tickets, directs visitors to their seats and informs them of the nearest exits and restrooms, provides special assistance to guests with needs such as individuals with wheelchairs or other disabilities, and assists with venue preparation before an event and cleanup afterwards.

Requirements

Some experience as an Usher and/or interest in entertainment or the performing arts is preferred
Ability to work in a standing position for long periods of time
Consistent professional and neat presentation, and friendly demeanor
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
Ability to work well with a group and remain calm in stressful situations
Reliability and promptness in arriving for scheduled shifts
Willingness to work evenings, weekends, and public holidays
1-3 years of experience working in a customer service-based industry.

Responsibilities

Welcoming guests in a polite and friendly manner
Checking and scanning tickets and directing guests to their seats
Distributing programs, brochures, and other materials
Informing guests of the location of the restrooms and exits
Assisting patrons with disabilities or other impairments
Ensure a safe environment by maintaining clear aisles and reporting suspicious behavior
Enforcing event rules and relevant health and safety regulations
Greet arriving guests and answer questions regarding show times and policies
Assist with security checks
Driving a golf cart to shuttle patrons from the nearby parking lots
Cleaning the auditorium before and after an event including but limited to sweeping, mopping, emptying trash, cleaning windows
Arranging, setting up, or breaking down chairs
Moving racks of tables or chairs
Arranging stanchions
Cleaning the Dressing Rooms and Green Room after an event such as emptying trash, wiping down tables, sweeping, vacuuming, etc.
