About The Position

Boeing Defense, Space & Security (BDS) Mobility, Surveillance & Bombers (MS&B) Organization has an exciting opportunity for a USAF E-7 Entry-Level Mechanical Design Engineer in support of the USAF E-7 program’s Mission Systems Lab Integration team in Tukwila, WA. Objectives of the USAF E-7 program are to build and deliver two rapid prototype E-7 aircraft and associated Airborne Mission Segment and Mission Support Segment lab infrastructure include upgrade of major airborne and ground-based systems. The US-based team is managed by Airborne Early Warning & Control (AEW&C), a unit of Boeing Mobility, Surveillance, and Bombers (MS&B), the E-7 is the world’s most advanced, capable and reliable command-and-control system. Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology (including Manufacturing Technology), Computer Science, Data Science, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry or non-US equivalent qualifications directly related to the work statement.
  • Willing to work weekends on a rotating schedule.
  • This position is expected to be 100% onsite.
  • The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at the listed location.
  • This position must meet U.S. export control compliance requirements. To meet U.S. export control compliance requirements, a “U.S. Person” as defined by 22 C.F.R. §120.62 is required. “U.S. Person” includes U.S. Citizen, U.S. National, lawful permanent resident, refugee, or asylee.
  • This position requires the ability to obtain a U.S. Security Clearance for which the U.S. Government requires U.S. Citizenship. An interim and/or final U.S. Secret Clearance Post-Start is required.

Nice To Haves

  • 1+ years of experience in 3D modeling and drafting.
  • Active U.S. Security Clearance.
  • CMPRO or other Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) system experience.
  • CATIA / ENOVIA experience.

Responsibilities

  • Learn and implement mechanical design of hardware in the loop systems integration laboratories (labs) under direction from lead engineers.
  • Create, develop, and maintain mechanical designs by preparing design layouts, modifying existing designs, and assisting in identifying design discrepancies.
  • Coordinating between Lab Engineering, Lab Ops, Program, and Supplier Management.
  • Lab, Rack, Component Build/Job, Installation Development, and Design.
  • Leverage geometric, dimensioning, and tolerancing (GD&T).
  • Mechanical layout of electronic products within aircraft and commercial off-the-shelf rack enclosures.

  • Summary pay range: $76,500 - $103,500
