About The Position

Boeing Defense, Space & Security (BDS) Mobility, Surveillance & Bombers (MS&B) Organization has an exciting opportunity for a USAF E-7 Entry-Level Mechanical Design Engineer in support of the USAF E-7 program’s Mission Systems Lab Integration team in Tukwila, WA. Objectives of the USAF E-7 program are to build and deliver two rapid prototype E-7 aircraft and associated Airborne Mission Segment and Mission Support Segment lab infrastructure include upgrade of major airborne and ground-based systems. The US-based team is managed by Airborne Early Warning & Control (AEW&C), a unit of Boeing Mobility, Surveillance, and Bombers (MS&B), the E-7 is the world’s most advanced, capable and reliable command-and-control system. Position Responsibilities: Learn and implement mechanical design of hardware in the loop systems integration laboratories (labs) under direction from lead engineers. Create, develop, and maintain mechanical designs by preparing design layouts, modifying existing designs, and assisting in identifying design discrepancies. Coordinating between Lab Engineering, Lab Ops, Program, and Supplier Management. Lab, Rack, Component Build/Job, Installation Development, and Design. Leverage geometric, dimensioning, and tolerancing (GD&T). Mechanical layout of electronic products within aircraft and commercial off-the-shelf rack enclosures. This position is expected to be 100% onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at the listed location.

Requirements

• Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology (including Manufacturing Technology), Computer Science, Data Science, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry or non-US equivalent qualifications directly related to the work statement.
• Willing to work weekends on a rotating schedule.
• This position requires the ability to obtain a U.S. Security Clearance for which the U.S. Government requires U.S. Citizenship.
• An interim and/or final U.S. Secret Clearance Post-Start is required.
• This position must meet U.S. export control compliance requirements. To meet U.S. export control compliance requirements, a “U.S. Person” as defined by 22 C.F.R. §120.62 is required. “U.S. Person” includes U.S. Citizen, U.S. National, lawful permanent resident, refugee, or asylee.

Nice To Haves

• 1+ years of experience in 3D modeling and drafting.
• Active U.S. Security Clearance.
• CMPRO or other Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) system experience.
• CATIA / ENOVIA experience.
