Boeing Defense, Space & Security (BDS) Mobility, Surveillance & Bombers (MS&B) Organization has an exciting opportunity for a USAF E-7 Entry-Level Mechanical Design Engineer in support of the USAF E-7 program’s Mission Systems Lab Integration team in Tukwila, WA. Objectives of the USAF E-7 program are to build and deliver two rapid prototype E-7 aircraft and associated Airborne Mission Segment and Mission Support Segment lab infrastructure include upgrade of major airborne and ground-based systems. The US-based team is managed by Airborne Early Warning & Control (AEW&C), a unit of Boeing Mobility, Surveillance, and Bombers (MS&B), the E-7 is the world’s most advanced, capable and reliable command-and-control system. A unit of The Boeing Company, BDS is one of the world's largest defense, space and security businesses specializing in innovative and capabilities-driven customer solutions, and the world's largest and most versatile producer of military aircraft and commercial/civil/government space systems. Position Responsibilities: Learn and implement mechanical design of hardware in the loop systems integration laboratories (labs) under direction from lead engineers. Create, develop, and maintain mechanical designs by preparing design layouts, modifying existing designs, and assisting in identifying design discrepancies. Coordinating between Lab Engineering, Lab Ops, Program, and Supplier Management. Lab, Rack, Component Build/Job, Installation Development, and Design. Leverage geometric, dimensioning, and tolerancing (GD&T). Mechanical layout of electronic products within aircraft and commercial off-the-shelf rack enclosures. This position is expected to be 100% onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at the listed location.
