Upper School Innovation Teacher

Delaware County Christian SchoolNewtown Square, PA

About The Position

This isn't a typical teaching role, and we're not looking for a typical candidate. Delaware County Christian School's Center for Innovation runs the Incubator: a program where Upper School students operate real ventures and projects with real stakes. Student-run teams manage an apparel brand, a coffee shop, a screen printing operation, a sports streaming service, CS application development, and engineering projects. These aren't simulations. Students face authentic audiences, manage actual revenue, and make decisions with real consequences. The program generates meaningful income, and the formative impact on students is significant. We're looking for someone to teach, coach, and mentor these student teams as they pursue redemptive impact through innovation and entrepreneurship. Your primary work will be coming alongside student teams as a coach and mentor. You'll guide students through design thinking, problem-solving, and the messy realities of building something real. You'll help student executives lead their teams, navigate setbacks, and grow through the process. There will be instructional elements, but your default posture is mentor, not lecturer. You believe students learn best when the stakes are real and the ownership is theirs. You'll work closely with the Director of the Center for Innovation and a small, collaborative team that cares deeply about preparing students for a life of redemptive impact. Delaware County Christian School has been educating students for over 75 years. Our mission is to graduate students prepared to impact the world through biblical thought and action. The Center for Innovation is where that mission comes alive through real-world learning, student agency, and redemptive impact. Applicants should review DC's Statement of Faith on the school website and upload a signed copy as part of the application. We encourage you to explore whether DC is a place where you can grow personally, professionally, and spiritually.

Requirements

  • You feel called to Christian education and can affirm DC's Statement of Faith with conviction.
  • You hold a Bachelor's degree or higher and bring a background in business, entrepreneurship, or STEM.
  • You're energized by student initiative, comfortable with some ambiguity, and more interested in coaching than controlling.
  • You thrive in collaborative professional learning teams and bring a growth mindset to your own development.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience mentoring young entrepreneurs or leading project-based learning is a plus, but the right disposition matters more than the perfect resume.

Responsibilities

  • Guide students through design thinking, problem-solving, and the messy realities of building something real.
  • Help student executives lead their teams, navigate setbacks, and grow through the process.
  • Mentor student teams as they pursue redemptive impact through innovation and entrepreneurship.
