The Village School of Naples is accepting resumes for a passionate and dedicated Upper School English Teacher to join our team for the 2026-2027 school year. This role offers the opportunity to inspire students through inquiry-based, student-centered learning that empowers them to think critically, communicate effectively, and engage thoughtfully with the world around them. The Upper School English Teacher is responsible for designing and delivering dynamic, engaging instruction that develops students as energetic readers, purposeful writers, and thoughtful thinkers. The ideal candidate demonstrates deep content knowledge in literature and composition, a passion for authentic learning experiences, and a commitment to educating the whole student within a collaborative, faith-based environment. The Upper School English program at The Village School emphasizes the development of students as thoughtful readers and purposeful writers. Through the critical study of literature, students explore universal themes that transcend boundaries and foster empathy and understanding. Students read like writers—analyzing diction, syntax, and rhetorical choices—and apply these techniques in their own writing. Instruction balances independent reading, collaborative discussion, formal and informal writing, and focused study of vocabulary and grammar to prepare students for engaged citizenship and lifelong learning.
