About The Position

The Facility Assistants are the first point of contact for University Auditorium patrons and clients. These student assistants are responsible for the following: Unlocking and securing the facility for business operations and events, attending to UF Performing Arts and UF School of Music equipment per training, answering general inquiries, fielding phone calls from current and prospective clients, assisting in preparation of the venue for events of varying scope, attending to the integrity of the venue security and providing access for students, clients and patrons as authorized. During events, the Office Assistants will answer patron questions, check belongings not permitted into the hall during performances, log lost and found items, assist venue leadership with event setup and breakdown as needed, in the vent of an emergency the Office Assistant will rely upon training that has been provided to assist in evacuation or respond as appropriate.

Requirements

  • Candidates are employed on a part-time basis, up to 20 hours per week.
  • Ability to speak and write English fluently
  • Lift 30 pounds
  • Work in a fast-paced environment
  • Maintain a pleasant demeanor under adverse circumstances
