Requirements

  • Training or equivalent experience in general clerical functions.
  • CPR certification required.

Nice To Haves

  • Previous medical/clerical experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain an organized unit; perform light housekeeping functions to maintain a clean, neat and orderly work area, adhering to Universal/Standard precautions.
  • Promotes, monitors, and maintains a safe clean environment
  • Consistently know the coming and going of patients and assisting with the electronic push/pull of patients in the computer system
  • Be available at the nurse's station to answer telephone calls and direct the phone calls as necessary and always consistently practice excellent telephone etiquette.
  • Effectively communicate needs of the department by acknowledging patients, visitors, and healthcare providers upon arrival to the unit
  • Ensures stationary supplies are ordered for the unit and available
