About The Position

The Pre-op and PACU at Troy Beaumont are a fast-paced critical care unit that specialize in the preparation and recovery of patients who are undergoing a surgical procedure. The department is comprised of 3 pre-op areas and 3 PACU areas, specializing in both outpatient and inpatient surgeries. Staff who join these units should be teamwork oriented and possess strong critical thinking, organizational, and decision-making skills. The Unit Secretary coordinates the non-clinical aspects of patient care by managing communication and clerical tasks essential to the functioning of the unit.

Requirements

• High school graduate or equivalent required

Nice To Haves

• Specialized Unit Secretary/Health Unit Coordinator training preferred
• 1 year of clerical or customer service experience preferred

Responsibilities

• Coordinates the non-clinical aspects of patient care by managing communication and clerical tasks essential to the functioning of the unit
• Performs unit clerical functions
• Acts as a receptionist
• Acts as an intradepartmental and interdepartmental liaison
• Orders and stocks office supplies
• Coordinates repair of office & unit equipment
