As an Underwriter Associate in the HUC, you will analyze, price, quote and negotiate Professional Liability, Technology E&O, and Cyber/Privacy insurance to meet agreed service standards and key performance objectives. What You’ll Be Doing as an Underwriter Associate: Underwrite, analyze, price and negotiate renewal accounts consistent with the quality of the risk and according to the company’s strategy and guidelines Develop relationships and maintain existing relationships with regional brokers and other Hiscox Underwriters in the various Hiscox offices around the US Achieve production targets and underwrite business profitably in a high-volume environment Responding to broker inquiries Person Specification: Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work in a collaborative environment Ability to effectively interact with all levels of internal and external personnel, including underwriting colleagues in other Hiscox offices, brokers, and customers Desire to learn and increase product knowledge and underwriting skill Strong skills in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Outlook) and Internet applications Excellent written and verbal communication skills No college degree required Nice To Haves: Experience underwriting small business (Commercial insurance) accounts in a volume environment is preferred Experience handling complex customer transactions in a “call-center” operation Hiscox Values: At Hiscox our spirit is in Challenging Convention and everything we do is guided by our Values.
