The Research Program Intern will support faculty- and graduate student–led projects by completing assigned research tasks such as data collection, literature review, analysis, and other project-specific responsibilities. The intern is expected to attend weekly professional development activities and participate in field trips organized by the program director to enhance academic and career readiness. Additionally, the intern will prepare and submit a research abstract by the program’s assigned deadline and will develop and deliver both a poster and an oral presentation as part of the end-of-summer research symposium. The OSU Physics REU program will provide 8 non-OSU undergraduate students with research training in one of the following seven research areas: 1) atomic, molecular, and optical physics 2) biophysics 3) nuclear physics 4) particle physics 5) astrophysics 6) condensed matter physics, and 7) physics education research. The students will also engage in a program of field trips and professional development activities that educate them about the conduct of research and the prospects for careers in physics.
