Interns must be located in the same location throughout the duration of their internship and are prohibited from returning laptop/equipment to a different office location or shipping their equipment back. Our US Distribution Sales Strategy & Enablement organization, located in Stamford CT, Rancho Cordova CA, St. Petersburg FL, is currently seeking an Intern to support our team. This is an exciting opportunity to work for a leading Global Asset Manager. The role of U.S. Distribution is to acquire and retain assets through distribution and support primarily focused on institutions, intermediary home offices and financial advisors. Clients are primarily institutional investors, insurance companies, consultants, bank trusts, RIAs, private banks, defined contribution plans, intermediary home offices, and financial advisors. The product vehicles are typically Franklin Templeton’s mutual funds, ETFs, 529 Plans, retail SMAs, variable insurance trusts, sub-advised funds, collective investment trusts, and separate accounts. A US Strategy & Enablement Intern at Franklin Templeton can expect to learn: What can an Intern expect to learn by the end of their internship? The US Strategy & Enablement group led by the COO of US Distribution serves as a center of excellence for the benefit of clients by supporting strategic initiatives across US Distribution. The group provides sales strategy, project management, event planning, client service and administrative support to enable growth, champion the client experience, and drive effectiveness. The group is organized and staffed to support the needs of the firm’s distribution channels.

  • Ability to work multiple projects at the same time and take on unscheduled projects on short notice.
  • Ability to follow procedures and have a strong attention to detail.
  • Technologically proficient and knowledgeable.
  • Ability to quickly learn technology systems and utilize reporting functions.
  • Comfortable escalating issues to management when required.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, or willing to learn.
  • Must be present in the office during assigned in office hours.

Responsibilities

  • Facilitate CRM database clean-up
  • Support Director of Sales Services with projects
  • Research and resolve un-reconciled trades
  • Perform routine data aggregation requests using Microsoft Excel
  • Assist associates with the cash/non cash approval and record retention process
  • Mail or e-mail approved marketing materials and order promotional items
  • Perform additional responsibilities as assigned
