As an Access Control Officer at a fast-paced logistics and distribution location, you will help manage facility entry points, verify credentials, and track visitor and vehicle access while maintaining a professional, customer-focused presence. You will conduct routine patrols of assigned areas, monitor activity, and communicate clearly with team members and site personnel to help reduce security-related incidents. Requirements
- Have a minimum of 2+ years of security-related experience.
- Be 21+ years of age.
- Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
- Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
- As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
- Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
- As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
- Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
- A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
Responsibilities
- Provide customer service to personnel, visitors, and drivers by following site-specific access control procedures, issuing credentials, and maintaining visitor and vehicle entry logs.
- Control access at entrances and vehicle gates by verifying identification, confirming appointments and/or delivery documentation, and directing traffic flow to designated docks or staging areas.
- Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including reporting policy violations and coordinating notifications per post orders.
- Conduct regular and random patrols of the facility, yard, and perimeter to help to deter unauthorized activity and identify security-related concerns such as open doors, damaged fencing, or unusual conditions.
- Monitor cameras and alarm systems when assigned, document security-related activity in daily reports, and communicate observations to site contacts and Allied Universal supervision.
