About The Position

We are currently seeking a dependable and professional Unarmed School Security Flex Officer to join our Chicago-based team in Rockford. This is a full-time position, Monday through Friday, with variable shifts scheduled between 6:00 AM and 6:00 PM. The ideal candidate will have a strong sense of responsibility, excellent communication skills, and a commitment to maintaining a safe and welcoming environment for students, staff, and visitors.

Requirements

Must be at least 21 years old.
High school diploma or GED required.
Ability to obtain and maintain all required certifications and clearances, including PERC card, 20-hour training, background checks and fingerprinting.
Strong interpersonal skills and ability to interact professionally with students and school personnel.
Must be flexible and adaptable to different school environments and varying shift start/end times between 6:00 AM - 6:00 PM.

Responsibilities

Provide a visible and reassuring security presence on school campuses.
Monitor entrances, hallways, and common areas to deter unauthorized activity.
Assist in conflict resolution and de-escalation when necessary.
Patrol school grounds to ensure safety protocols are followed.
Respond to incidents, emergencies, or disturbances in a calm and professional manner.
Work collaboratively with school administrators and local law enforcement when needed.
Flex between various school sites as assigned; flexibility in daily location is required.
