Requirements
- Ultrasound Certification/Licensure recommended.
- Minimum of one (1) year of ultrasound experience preferred.
- High School graduate or equivalent required; healthcare-related certificate or diploma preferred.
- Medical care and reproductive rights experience helpful.
- Must have a strong understanding of and personal commitment to reproductive rights and the goals and responsibilities of Planned Parenthood.
- Excellent organizational, communication, and sound decision-making skills.
- Must have a commitment to efficiency and quality.
- Must be comfortable discussing sexuality, contraception, sexually transmitted diseases, and pregnancy options.
- Ability to recognize and function appropriately in sensitive situations.
- Previous experience working with Microsoft Office suite is preferred.
Responsibilities
- Perform ultrasound imaging for pregnancy dating, identification of the presence or absence of pregnancy, cardiac activity, and fetal number.
- Provide ultrasound guidance for procedures under the direction of the provider.
- Educate patients about the ultrasound procedure, its purpose, and limitations, ensuring a compassionate and supportive experience.
- Accurately document findings in the electronic health record (EHR) while maintaining confidentiality and compliance standards.
- Properly clean, maintain, and ensure the optimal functioning of ultrasound equipment in accordance with Planned Parenthood protocols.
- Assist in maintaining facility cleanliness, supplies, and operational readiness.
- Collaborate with health center staff to support efficient patient flow and quality care delivery.
