This position is PRN, days, in the mammography department, at IUHMG W-West Lafayette. The Ultrasound Technologist provides diagnostic patient care services using ultrasound to generate images of patients' internal organs, tissues, and blood flow. The role involves the independent operation of sonographic equipment, evaluating images for diagnostic quality, and making necessary adjustments to capture the best possible images. The technologist collaborates with radiologists and other healthcare professionals to provide accurate diagnostic information and ensures patient safety and comfort during procedures by explaining the process, positioning patients correctly, and adjusting equipment as needed. The position requires familiarity with current scan protocols, maintaining compliance with high level disinfection practices, assisting with minimally invasive procedures, and possessing familiarity with ultrasound contrast indications and administration practices. Intraoperative ultrasound may also be provided as requested.
