Purpose The Project Management & Design Intern supports the planning, coordination, and execution of high-profile university events and special projects led by University Events & Experience. This role provides hands-on exposure to event production and design, logistics, and guest experience for signature university events. Learning Objectives Gain practical experiences in event logistics and venue operations. Develop teamwork and communication skills in a fast-paced environment. Understand the behind-the scenes coordination required for professional events.

Requirements

  • Currently enrolled as a UT student with good academic standing.
  • Willingness to work flexible hours, including early mornings, evenings, and weekends.

Nice To Haves

  • Strong work ethic, punctuality, and attention to detail.
  • Interest in event management, hospitality, design, or operations preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with the planning and execution of university events, including signature football weekends, donor events, and special projects.
  • Assist with assembling, organizing, and preparing welcome gifts, favors, and branded materials.
  • Help maintain detailed production schedules, timelines, and task lists.
  • Support event logistics such as rental, décor, signage, and vendor coordination.
  • Assist with basic budget tracking, invoice organization, and post-event documentation.
  • Provide on-site event support as needed, including setup, guest assistance, and event breakdown.
  • Work closely with the Senior Events Manager and University Events team to gain exposure to all phases of event planning.
  • Other duties as assigned.
