Swift Engineering is seeking a Project Engineer, Mechanical, to take ownership of mechanical systems and platform development, managing the process from initial concept through low-rate production. This role involves leading technical efforts to define requirements, propose solutions, and develop methods for evaluating and verifying mechanical systems. The Project Engineer will collaborate closely with other disciplines to ensure that electrical, software, and mechanical systems work together to create a reliable, flexible, and cost-effective solution. Responsibilities include leading design reviews, performing analysis, visiting vendors, prototyping, and implementing hardware test plans. The role also involves contributing to the improvement of team tools, templates, processes, and standards while fostering a positive, committed, high-energy, educational, and enjoyable work environment. You'll need to balance operational needs across vehicle subsystems while optimizing for speed of development, weight, manufacturability, and cost. Additionally, you'll support key hardware demonstrations for customers and travel to test sites and vendors as needed.
